Wallie is going walk, trot, canter, and cantering small fences with child riders. He is currently leased to Zoey, an 8 year old beginner. Wallie has good ground manners and is fun to ride bareback in a halter. He is wonderful in the arena with the kids and is a great crossrail pony. He has a pretty hunter trot and his canter is very easy to ride. He will canter from a walk, though he is still working on his lead to the right, and has a sweet, can-do attitude.

Wallie is still green as he turns age 4 this summer. Still, he is very honest and readily accepts leadership from a child. He is not 100% sure about riding in an arena with big horses all around or riding on the trail. However, he has been raised to express his concerns and wait for instructions rather than to react immediately. He is a good communicator and naturally very willing.

Wallie lays down and does other fun tricks on cue. He looks very cute with his tail braided and is good with having several kids around him all at once. He whinnies when he sees his lease student coming.

Wallie likes to have a job and rises to the occasion, always surprising us with how much he will give. He is so generous that it would be easy to over-face him and create a work-aholic pony. We'd love to see him go to someone who would fawn over him and keep him quiet and sweet.

Wallie loads well and hauls well. He was clipped a few times by his breeder and has had a few baths but we wouldn't call him a pro yet. Wallie loves clicker training, though, so it is easy to teach him new skills.

As is true with most ponies, it is important that a child is consistent about steering Wallie, or else he will learn to call the shots. He does not, however, require anything more than a halter and clip-on reins. He has always been bitless. Wallie is light on the aids for both go and whoa, and obedient so long as the child is present. Wallie is also good with seatwork on the longe, bareback or riding in a saddle without stirrups.

Wallie plays easily at Parelli Level 3. He jumps a barrel from a standstill, backs through narrow chutes, crosses a tarp, and pushes a ball as tall as he is all over the arena. Wallie is a medium spirit left brain introvert with a medium to high play drive. He has a great sense of humor and loves to cuddle. He also likes to take your stick from you and spank you back with it.
