Polecat "Billy"

Well trained and kid ready! Excellent ground manners!

Billy is sweet, gentle, obedient, and predictable. He is well trained and not spooky. He does great in new places. He is such a good pony that we have used him for lessons for kids as young as 5 with no previous horse experience. Billy is only for sale as he was bred by a Welsh Pony breeder and is looking for his first family. He is currently in professional training and being ridden by a 7 year old beginner.

Billy has natural horsemanship and hunter/jumper training. He has many blue ribbons to his name, including novice hunter champion his first time out. Billy is also trained to pull a cart. He is great on the trail and is great for teaching kids to ride on the lunge. Billy is a pony that a child could learn on and who would be read to compete as soon as that child had their legs under them. He is patient, willing, and has no pony attitude.

Performance Resume: Billy would make an excellent child's small pony hunter. He is quiet, honest, and kind hearted. Billy has the classic hunter look with refined features and a daisy cutter trot. At his first show, he took Champion in the Novice Hunter Over Fences division.

Billy has also been started in harness and though he is still green, is a good cart pony.

Billy has lots of show miles over fences, Western, Showmanship, and pattern Trail. Despite often being the youngest pony in his division, he has many blue ribbons to his name and is always a show favorite.

Natural Horsemanship Resume: Billy would also be an outstanding child's pony for a natural horsemanship home. He plays the Parelli games and is sweet, gentle, and affectionate. Billy was born, raised, and trained with a Welsh breeder and came to us recently to find a home. He is currently on lease with a 7 year old girl who is very tiny. This is her first time around horses.

Billy is a LBI/RBI with average spirit. He is quiet, intuitive, and obedient. He has balanced go and whoa and is not spooky. He does well in new places and is light and responsive. Billy will do best with a child with a similar temperament. His current lease student is intelligent, mature for her age, soft spoken, and a little shy, and Billy took to her right away. They have an awesome Stick To Me game including walking, trotting, and backing.

Billy will play at L2 with even a beginner child. He will go sideways for a whole lap around the arena, play the squeeze game over large jumps, YoYo through gates or between trees, push a ball, or play wearing a tarp. He represents a great opportunity to get a pony who will allow a child to play like an adult with a partner sized for them. He does not have the typical naughty pony manners that teach a child bad habits like pulling too hard or spanking incessantly. Billy has a full sized horse's temperament in a pony body.

Billy is also great on line for helping a young rider find their balance. He is not a reactionary pony. He is thoughtful, patient, and serene.

Billy is a nice size for children to tack up but is tall enough to be ridden by most kids up to 12. He would be a dream come true for most any child.
